According to the preliminary statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, in November of 2021, Vietnam's seafood exports of all kinds continued to increase for the third consecutive month by 2.5% compared to October of 2021 and by 23% over the same month of 2020, reaching 910.91 million USD. In total, for the first 11 months of 2021, the country’s total seafood exports increased by 4% compared to the same period of 2020, reaching nearly 7.99 billion USD.
The U.S was leading the list of Vietnam's seafood export markets, accounting for 23.4% of the country's total seafood export turnover, reaching over 1.87 billion USD in the first 11 months of 2021, up by 25.4% over with the same period of 2020. In November of 2021, the country’s exports of seafood to the U.S decreased by 9.7% compared to October of 2021 but increased by 36.4% compared to November of 2020, reaching 197.72 million USD.
Meanwhile, the country’s seafood exports to Japan accounted for 15.2%, ranked second in turnover, reaching over 1.21 billion USD, down by 7% over the same period last year. In November of 2021 alone, the country’s exports of seafood to Japan increased by 13.8% compared to October of 2021 and increased by 1.8% compared to November of 2020, reaching 136.4 million USD.
The EU market ranked third with 914.12 million USD, accounting for 11.4%, up by 9.9% over the same period last year while the seafood exports to China accounted for 10.8%, reaching 862.79 million USD, down by 21.7% over the same period last year.
In general, in the first 11 months of this year, Vietnam’s seafood exports to most markets increased in turnover compared to the same period of 2020.
