Vietnam was among top 3 suppliers of processed squid to Australia. The export price of Vietnam’s processed squid to this market were higher than the other two leading suppliers to Australia and the average import prices into Australia. However, processed squid from Vietnam is favoured by Australian customers thanks to high quality and food safety and hygiene.
Australia’s cephalopod exports in the first half of this year were on the downward trend. The U.S was the largest importer of Australian cephalopod, followed by Canada and China.
