A campaign to promote Vietnamese products was launched on May 31 by th Metro Cash & Carry chain in Friedrichshain Berlin, Germany.
During the campaign, Vietnamese products will be sold at 117 business-to-business wholesale centers of Metro Cash & Carry centers across Germany.
One million four hundred thousand business customers in Germany have received promotional materials advertising Vietnamese products.
High ranking officials of Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ho Chi Minh City administration and the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany as well as German politicians participated in the grand opening ceremony in Berlin on May 31.
Currently, there are already several Vietnamese products available at Metro Germany, including fresh and frozen Pangasius (tra or ba sa) fish, tiger prawn, chili sauce, dry foods, outdoor and indoor furniture, ceramic and textile items.
Metro Cash & Carry opened its first self-service wholesale centers in Ho Chi Minh City in 2002. It has since expanded to 17 outlets nationwide.
Since 2002, it has trained more than 20,000 Vietnamese farmers and fishermen in safe production to increase their yield and their product quality.
