In the first 10 months of 2018, pangasius export value to Middle Eastern market reached 130.8 million US$. In particular, as of the end of October 2018, exporting pangasius to the UAE market increased by 135.2% compared to the same period in 2017. In which, UAE; Egypt and Saudi Arabia are the three largest export markets of Vietnamese pangasius in the last 3 years within this region, with much more potential expected in the future.

In the first ten months of 2018, the export value of Vietnamese pangasius export to China - Hong Kong market reached US$437.9 million, up by 30.6% over the same period in 2017. A EU delegation which visited Vietnam from Oct. 28 to Nov. 2 has spoken highly of efforts to improve the fight against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, reports Nhan Dan, citing the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

The EU reamined as the largest importing market of Vietnamese shrimp in the first 7 months of this year, accounting for nearly 25%. Vietnam’s shrimp exports to EU registered the good growth in the first half of the year. However, exports to this market in July began to fall by 14.6% to see US$74 million. This was driven by a dip in the price of raw shrimp which affected on the export price. In the first seven months of this year, Vietnam’s shrimp exports to the EU market reached US$479.8 million, an increase of 26% over the same period last year.
