Shrimp exports in September 2022: Increased in Asia, decreased in US and EU markets

In September 2022, Vietnam's shrimp exports reached 349 million USD, up 13% over the same period in 2021. Accumulated in the first 9 months of the year, shrimp export value reached 3.4 billion, up 23% over the same period last year. In September this year, Vietnam's shrimp exports tended to increase in Asian markets such as Japan, China, and Korea while being “quiet” in Western markets such as the US and EU.
Price of Vietnam frozen pangasius export to the US increase by 56%

According to Vietnam Customs statistics, in the first 8 months of 2021, Vietnam pangasius exports reached over 1.8 billion USD, up 81% compared to the same period in 2021. In which, pangasius exports to the US accounted for 23%, equivalent to 421 million USD, an increase of 87%.

Towards the end of the year, the import demand of countries starts to increase strongly again to prepare for important festivals. Pangasius still holds the position of the best-selling item to our Middle East market, in addition, other items such as shrimp, tilapia, ... are still consumed in other markets.

Vietnam marine products exports reached more than 2 billion USD in the first half of 2022

In June 2022, Vietnam's total exports of marine products reached over 377 million USD, rising 32% to the same period in 2021. In the first 6 months of 2022, Vietnam's exports of marine products reached more than 2 billion USD, up 26% over the same period last year. Currently, marine products exports account for 35% of the country's total seafood export value.
Mexico – The highlight of Vietnam pangasius exports in 2022

From the 4th position in Vietnam's pangasius import markets in 2021, this year Mexico has risen to the 3rd market, after China and the US. In the first 7 months of 2022, pangasius exports to this market grew by 73%, reaching 73.5 million USD, accounting for 4.5% of Vietnam's pangasius exports.

Vietnam tuna exports is forecasted to reach a record of over 1 billion USD in 2022

According to the statistics of Vietnam Customs, Vietnam tuna export turnover in June 2022 reached $90 million, up 41% compared to June 2021. Accumulated in the first 6 months of 2022, tuna export turnover reached US$553 million, up 56% over the same period in 2022. Tuna exports to main markets recorded positive growths, except for the EU, Israel and Egypt.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Thanks to high market demand, the total export value of Vietnam pangasius in the first 4 months of 2022 increased by nearly 97% over the same period last year, reaching over US$963 million. This result is giving strength to many Vietnamese pangasius enterprises on the upcoming export journey.
